I'm Shoshannah Ingersoll the "Pregnancy Prepper" and I've been in the business of helping moms, surrogates, and intended parents prepare for their births and babies since 2012. I am proud mama of a beautiful eleven year old girl and a handsome seven year old monkey ( I mean boy) ;-). I'm also a proud surrogate to an eight year old boy,a one year old boy born, and a five month old boy for three different amazing loving families.

The idea to launch my own business came to me when I had my own second child and realized how much I had learned over the 4 years of raising my daughter that I wished I could have known when I started my journey as a young parent at 19-20 years old. When you're a new mom no one tells you that a successful breastfeeding relationship takes work, or what toxic chemicals are in some of the best known major brand baby products on the market, or that the manual that comes with car seat doesn't sufficiently teach you how to safely install the seat for YOUR vehicle (and how important that is in an accident). People take the time to tell you how your life is coming to an end as you know it, and how tired you will be, and how expensive raising a child is but very little of the well-intentioned and unsolicited advice you get benefits you as a parent. I count my blessings that despite navigating new mommyhood without as much information as I would have liked, that I have two happy, healthy, blossoming kids.

With my son I started to research everything I could get my hands on about baby safety, baby products, and breastfeeding. I connected with many excellent professionals: doulas, car seat experts, baby product creators, lactation consultants and much more! I had the birth experience that I wanted, and the knowledge, patience, and support to have an amazing first year where I wasn't completely exhausted as I had been with my first child. I had found my rhythm as a mama- and I feel that this is achievable for any parent with the right amount of information and support.

We all have our own rhythm and so do our babies. They are unique from the moment they enter this world. To any one reading this blog-whether you are trying to conceive, pregnant, already a proud parent, or expanding your family-know that it takes a village and you are not in this alone. None of us parent in a vacuum and there is support if you seek it. Until next time-wishing you all a joyous weekend!
